BAGNO, CESARE DA (ltal.). A Florentine Medallist of the first half of the sixteenth century, who also did some good work in gemengraving. His real name was Cesare di Niccolo di Mariano Federighi ; he was born about 1530 at Santa Maria in Bagno, died at Milan in 1564. BALBACH, OTHEMAR (Germ.). Medallist, born at Karlsruhe, 10th August 1810, died there on the 22. April 1897. He entered the Mint as Assistant-engraver in 1844; in 1848 he was named Mint-medallist, and in 1856, he obtained a chair of sculpture at the Karlsruhe Polytechnikum ; he retired in 1876.
