The Royal Canadian Mint is 100% owned by the Canadian government, which is its sole shareholder. Gold, silver, platinum and palladium coins are minted here. The best-known coini is Maple leaf with the motif of the Canadian maple leaf and Queen Eizabeth II on the other side. Other very popular coins with beautiful motifs are coins from the series Wildlife.
The mint was established in 1908. The Royal Canadian Mint headquarters is located in a historic building in central Ottawa. Commemorative coins, investment coins and medals are produced here.
In 1982, the Royal Canadian Mint began to produce coins with a 99.99% purity. Then in 1999, the Mint again excelled by the fact that it was the first mint to achieve purity of 99.999%.
The second branch is located in a modern building in Winnipeg, Canada. It was opened in 1976 and produces Canada's circulation coins.
